M’sia needs strong national brand: Najib
Borneopost Online
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia needs to embody a brand and a culture that is as agile as possible to be in the leading front in all sectors of national development, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said yesterday.
“Malaysia, to my mind, has to represent a few socio-economic agendas very strongly and passionately if we aim to restructure perceptions and garner support from all around.
“A successful and strong national brand will embody and represent the diverse positive elements that comprise our nation,” he said.
Najib said this in his keynote address at the Meeting of Minds: Developing the Malaysia Master Brand Conference, organised by the Yayasan Kajian & Strategi Melayu and the Axelera Group here yesterday.
He said Malaysia could learn from countries such as Switzerland, Japan, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.
Najib said Malaysia could learn from how they had propelled through inclusive partnership of all their stakeholders and the values that had enabled them to endure the times and crises.
“We can draw from the characteristics of these nations that are amazingly simple and complex at the same time.
“We should learn from their successful engagement mechanisms and processes,” he said.
