SEKOLAH TELAH MENERIMA NOTIS PETUNJUK PILIHANRAYA UMUM

 Terdapat sekolah-sekolah di Negeri Sembilan yang telah menerima notis agar semua peperiksaan dalaman disempurnakan di bulan Mei 2011. Juga arahan supaya dewan sekolah tidak disewakan mulai  Jun 2011. Menurut laporan Sin Chew, pemberitahuan sedemikian biasa dihantar sebulan dua sebelum pilihanraya umum walaupun ia tidak menyebut secara khusus tentang pilihanraya. Namun, pemberitahuan sebegini sebagai petunjuk pilihanraya umum lazimnya tepat.

School notices point to June polls

KUALA LUMPUR, April 11 — Government notices regimenting  school exam may suggest June or July snap polls, depending on the Sarawak state election outcome, Sin Chew Daily has reported.

The Chinese-language daily said today some Negeri Sembilan schools have received notices asking internal exams to be concluded by May and school halls should not be leased out from June onwards.

A Selangor Chinese primary school principal told the paper such notices are usually sent by the government one or two months before general elections although the letters never explicitly mention it as the reason.

“But these kinds of notices can be an indicator of elections and it’s usually quite accurate,” said the principal, who declined to be named.

According to Sin Chew Daily, only a small number of schools have received notices so far and that the timing of the next general election will likely depend on how well Barisan Nasional (BN) does in the Sarawak polls.

Sarawak will go to polls this April 16 in an election that is fast becoming BN’s to lose.

While PR’s leaders have long admitted that BN would successfully keep the hornbill state, many have expressed confidence that the state assembly majority would be significantly reduced.

BN presently has 63 seats in the 71-seat assembly while DAP has six and PKR and Parti Cinta Malaysia have one each.
