Woman's blood 'in couple's flat'
Ms Xie's corpse was found in this bag in the River Thames |
Traces of blood from a graduate whose body was dismembered were found in the alleged killers' flat, jurors heard.
The decapitated and handless body of Xing Xing Xie, 23, were found in a laundry bag in the Thames marina at Rotherhithe, south London, last April.
The chances of the blood not coming from her were a billion to one, the Old Bailey heard.
Noor Azura Mohd-Yusoff, 22, of Ealing, west London, and Lon Gian, 26, from Deptford, south London, deny murder.
Jealousy motive
Ms Xie was killed at their home in Knoyle Street, New Cross, south-east London, the prosecution alleges.
The property had been cleaned by the time police searched it.
The probability of obtaining matching DNA profiles if the blood had come from someone else was in the order of one in a billion Brian Altman, prosecuting |
But they discovered swabs of blood matching Ms Xie's on the bathroom door and on the shower head in the bath, jurors heard.
"The probability of obtaining matching DNA profiles if the blood had come from someone else was in the order of one in a billion," said Brian Altman, for the prosecution.
Jurors have heard that she may have been killed because Ms Mohd-Yusoff, a Malaysian prostitute, was "possessive" and jealous of Mr Gian's relationships with other women.
Seven weeks later her decapitated head was washed up at a nearby dock, wrapped in black plastic bin liners.
Her hands have never been found.
Jurors were also told that there was "moderate support" for saying the plastic bags used to wrap the head were from a roll found at the address.
In addition, there was "very strong" evidence that a bed sheet found with Ms Xie's body had been in contact with the beige carpet at the house.Untuk Berita Selanjutnya Sila rujuk:
