‘Jewification’ of Malaysia in two days if PR wins, claims Hasan Ali
PUTRAJAYA, May 4 ― Controversial speaker Datuk Hasan Mohd Ali warned Putrajaya voters tonight that a Pakatan Rakyat (PR) win in Election 2013 would lead to a rewriting of the Constitution and closer ties to Israel, a process he dubbed “pengyahudian” (Jewification).
In its last act of defence of Putrajaya, Barisan Nasional (BN) invited the president of right-wing Malay supremacist group Jalur Tiga (JATI) as its guest speaker for its final campaign rally tonight to endorse its candidate, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
“On Monday, there will be some surprises if PR is fated to win. If they capture Putrajaya, under the persuasion of DAP, PKR and PAS, they will amend Malaysia’s Constitution,” said Hasan in Precinct 9 here.
Declaring that it is “wajib” (obligatory) to vote BN, Hasan warned that PR would immediately wipe out any “special rights” of the Malays as well as remove Islam as the religion of the federation and the powers of the Malay rulers.
Hasan also took a shot at PKR’s Rafizi Ramli, saying that the party’s strategy director would practise meritocracy, which he said would neglect poor rural Malays should he become the PR Cabinet’s finance minister.
“The ‘Jewification’ of our economy will happen in Malaysia starting from May 6 2013, which means in two more days,” he said, claiming that Rafizi will establish trading ties with Israel.
Malaysia does not have an official diplomatic ties with Israel, but the two countries are trade partners. Malaysia was ranked 15th among Israel’s major trade partners in 2010, with Malaysia’s importing from Israel some US$716.4 million in value and exporting US$93.6 million in 2011.
Warning the men in the crowd, Hasan alleged that under PR’s women workers would be liberated to “ways opposite to Muslim, Malay and eastern values”.
According to Hasan, husbands should be worried that their wives would then be able to go on month-long outstation trips with other men, and will abandon their families for work
Citing Penang and Kota Kinabalu as an example, Hasan also claimed that DAP would persuade Malaysia into becoming a secular state where mosques will not receive any financial support, and the “azan” (Muslim call to prayers) will be muted.
Malaysia’s status as a secular state continues to be debated, despite a previous Supreme Court ruling which said it was one as well as previous statements made by earlier leaders such as Tunku Abdul Rahman, the country’s first prime minister.
Hasan had earlier backed his “Jewification” claim by quoting a YouTube video that purportedly shows 20 Jewish and Christian religious leaders endorsing a PR win so there will be closer ties between Israel and Malaysia.
Hasan was sacked from PAS in January last year for breaching party discipline and has since turned into an outspoken critic of PR.
Incumbent MP Tengku Adnan had turned to big names to convince the electorate, inviting former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin, and PAS critic Ustaz Rujhan Abd Rahman to BN’s rallies in the past week.
A total of 15,798 registered voters will go to the polls in Putrajaya tomorrow to choose between Tengku Adnan and PAS’s Datuk Husam Musa, in one of the hottest seats in Election 2013.-Malaysian Insider
