Dari mula lagi Dr M telah bertindak di luar batas kemanusiaan dengan menyekat pembayaran wong royalti kepada kerajaan PAS Terengganu 2000- 2004. Ketika PRK Kuala Terengganu, BN/UMNO menegaskan bahawa wang royalti telah selesai diagihkan kepada rakyat Terengganu, tetapi kini nyata tidak benar.
MB Terengganu akui pusat salahguna wang royalti
Isu penyelewengan serta penyalahgunaan wang royalti petroleum negeri Terengganu yang sering kali dibangkitkan oleh PAS akhirnya diakui oleh Menteri Besar (MB) Terengganu, Dato' Ahmad Said.
Dato' Ahmad mengakui isu royalti yang dibangkitkan oleh Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (Adun) Wakaf Mempelam, Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut ada kebenarannya yang kini dalam proses rundingan serta tuntutan kembali.
"Wakaf Mempelam (Abdul Wahid) ada membangkitkan mengenai royalti iaitu wang royalti dibelanjakan untuk membiayai Program Rumah Mesra Rakyat (PRMR) yang dilaksanakan oleh Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) diberi kepada kerajaan-kerajaan negeri yang lain.
"Ini memang kita (kerajaan) akui dan kita (kerajaan) telah membuat semakan-semakan dan ini merupakan sebahagian dari rundingan yang perlu kita (kerajaan) kembalikan wang ini kepangkuan negeri Terengganu,"jelasnya.
Beliau berkata demikian ketika menggulung Persidangan Mesyuarat Yang Pertama Penggal Kedua Dewan Undangan Negeri (Dun) Terengganu, di Wisma Darul Iman, semalam.
Menurutnya, SPNB telah menggunakan RM873 juta wang royalti minyak Terengganu bagi melaksanakan projek perumahan di seluruh Negara.
Namun begitu, katanya dari jumlah tersebut hanya RM102 juta dibelanjakan bagi projek SPNB itu di negeri ini.
"Ini bermakna, SPNB masih berhutang dengan kita (Terengganu) sebanyak RM771 juta dan tuntutan untuk wang royalty yang dijadikan dana khas yang dibahagi ke negeri-negeri lain adalah sebanyak RM717 juta,"ujarnya.
Katanya, kerajaan negeri juga sedang berbincang bagi menuntut kembali wang royalti minyak sebanyak RM2.6 bilion yang telah digunakan oleh beberapa kementerian lain.
Menurutnya, beberapa kementerian terbabit menggunakan dana khas (royalti) dalam melaksanakan projek-projek di negeri ini termasuk pembesaran Lapangan Terbang Sultan Mahmud (LTSM) dan pembinaan Lebuhraya Pantai timur (LPT).
Menteri Besar itu menjelaskan dari tahun 2000 hingga tahun 2008 kerajaan Terengganu hanya menerima wang royalti petroleum sebanyak RM6.27 bilion dari kerajaan pusat.
Katanya, jumlah wang yang sepatut diterima oleh kerajaan Terengganu dalam tempoh tersebut adalah RM15.847 bilion.
Ahmad turut mengumumkan kerajaan negeri baru menerima sebanyak RM650 juta dari jumlah yang sepatutnya diterima iaitu sebanyak RM1.394 juta sepanjang tempoh September 2008 hingga Mac 2009.

Najib: Proton needs to be more competitive
Proton cannot afford to be in the comfort zone in ensuring its continued existence in the automotive market, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said today.
"With the global economic crisis, we have seen well-known automotive industry names fighting for their survival, and Proton needs to learn from this," he said at the official launch of the Proton Exora MPV.
According to Najib, Proton needs to undertake initiatives and proactive efforts to raise its competitiveness and productivity.
Proton, he said, should also cultivate the image of being able to meet consumers' needs from the aspects of design, quality and price.
Najib said that as the national carmaker, Proton has to become a more competitive company to ensure its survival in the 21st century automotive market.
"In this challenging era of globalisation as well as facing the global financial and economic crisis, we have to find more creative and innovative solutions to overcome the problems. We have to be brave to think out of the box," he said.
Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed and his deputy Datuk Mukhriz Tun Mahathir, and Proton Holdings Bhd's advisor Tun Mahathir Mohamad, chairman Datuk Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh and managing director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir.
Najib, who is also Finance Minister, said that in overcoming any crisis, there was a need to look at all options for the good of the country.
Proton, according to him, should look more seriously at strategic alliances to come out with products which were fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly.
"In the competitive local and export markets, we must always be ahead of the competition to succeed. And the competitors will also continue to challenge our position. There is no such thing as a free ride or free lunch in this world," he said.
On the Exora, Najib said he hoped that it could meet the needs of consumers who are now more conscious concerning the comfort and security of their families on the road.
He said that as the country's first locally manufactured multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the Exora has received more than 2,000 bookings since Feb 21, 2009, when it was opened for bookings.
"We are proud because the process of coming out with the Exora, from research and development, design, testing to production, involved locals. This is a proof of our capability," he added.
Najib said the Exora required only 18 months for development, from the model fix stage to start of production.
He announced the MPV prices, from RM69,998 for the Exora M-Line 1.6 Automatic to RM75,998 for the Exora Hi-Line 1.6 Automatic.
Set up in 1983, Proton is not only a domestic player but has also entered the competitive global automotive market, including in the United Kingdom, Australia, Asian countries, the Middle East and northern Africa.

Rais wants bloggers to stop writing untruths
Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim today advised bloggers against writing untruths and touching on personal matters.
He said those writing untruths would be penalised under the Communications and Multimedia Act.
"They can criticise the government but if they write untruths then we will take action under the Communications (and Multimedia) Act," he told reporters after a visit to the Information Department at Wisma Sime Darby, here.
Dr Rais said the matter was also discussed at the first meeting of the new cabinet today.
He also said that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had agreed to have the official name of the ministry changed to Information, Communications and Culture, with the removal of the word "Arts".
He said the three ministries amalgamated into one would undertake greater enforcement under the Communications and Multimedia Act.
Dr Rais said the ministry would implement the "1Malaysia" programme with resolve so that it was understood and accepted by all levels of society.
"The implementation of this idea must be integrated in terms of the society, economy and social interests," he said.
He said the essence of the concept would be explained through the various mediums under the ministry, and it was hoped that all departments would play their important roles respectively.
Dr Rais said the Information Department was reminded to give priority to the public interest in the villages, new villages and urban centres in the delivery of information and social guidance.
He said information officers in the districts should pool their resources with all departments under the ministry to produce effective services, information and practices pertaining to government policies.
Dr Rais was accompanied on the visit to the department by the two deputy ministers, Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum and Senator Heng Seai Kie, as well as Director-General of Information Datuk Abdullah Morad.
